Meet the Team
Having studied Egyptology at Ghent University in Belgium and at Cairo University in Egypt, Caroline Haelterman became fascinated with the evolution of Jewellery throughout History following her research on Ancient Egyptian Jewellery.
In 2004, Caroline and her husband, Hugh, set up The Real Pearl Co. and through their contacts with Museums, Royal Palaces, Stately Homes and Galleries in the UK, Europe, the USA and further afield Caroline was able to pursue her dream of re-creating Historic jewellery into contemporary designs and turn her hobby into a full-time business, thereby keeping over 5,000 years of jewellery history alive through her designs.
The Real Pearl Co. has succeeded in its aim and is proud to be at the forefront of making Historic Jewellery fashionable and accessible.
