The term “Keshi” is used to refer to second harvest pearls: when the oyster is opened and the harvest of pearls removed, it is then closed again but without implanting any nuclei. The oyster will fill the empty pocket with nacre, so Keshi pearls are composed entirely of nacre and can technically be called natural pearls
